Corona Contacts

Contact lenses are a great way to have refractive errors corrected so that you can see clearly. However, when you wear Corona contacts, it is important that you watch out for contact lens -related infections, such as keratitis.

If you ever feel that you may have a contact lens-related infection, such as keratitis, you should make an immediate appointment to come in to see our optometrist at Lens Lab Express. Our optometrist will be able to definitively diagnose whether or not your eye actually has an infection, and provide you with appropriate treatment. It is important that eye infections are diagnosed and treated quickly because a small eye infection can quickly turn into a serious vision problem if left untreated. It is common for contact lens wearers to develop contact lens infections, especially if contact lenses are not disinfected properly, or if a person handles their contact lenses when their hands are not freshly washed. Keratitis is a serious contact lens -related infection which needs immediate treatment. Symptoms of keratitis can include: redness of the eye; eye pain; excessive tearing of the eye; difficulty opening your eyelid due to eye pain; blurred vision; decreased vision; sensitivity to light; or the feeling that there is something in your eye that cannot be removed. If you experience any of these symptoms, it is important that you make an appointment to immediately come in to see our optometrist for an eye exam. Another Corona contacts related infection is a corneal ulcer. When a patient has a corneal ulcer, there is a sore on the surface of the cornea. These corneal ulcers are most commonly caused by germs, or possibly by injury. Symptoms of a corneal ulcer are similar to that of keratitis but you may also see a white spot on your cornea. In any event, immediate eye care is required.
